[Update] New Ability - Dash

Since Sprint has been replaced with an innate sprinting ability, we have replaced it with another movement based ability; Dash.

Description:

Charge forward 5 tiles, dealing physical damage to all enemies in your path. This attack applies the Stunned effect.

The activated Sprint ability has been replaced in favor of an innate sprint. From now on, players can hold Shift for a minor speed increase when moving. Holding sprint causes a slow drain on the player's Action Point pool.

I feel this change is necessary because I am constantly craving a speed boost while exploring, and don't necessarily want to have the Sprint ability equipped all the time.

Each time a creature is about to use an ability, a unique animation indicates to the player that an attack is coming. Players have about half a second to dodge the attack.

I'll be posting bi-weekly articles in an effort to help fellow developers with some of the problems and experiences I've had during the development of Artifex. The next article will involve tower design in tower defense games. Keep an eye out!
